Abacus EW Consultancy Industry Open Day - 8 May 2008

In celebration of the opening of their new EW training facility in Wellingore Hall, near Lincoln, Abacus EW Consultancy Limited invites all AOC members to join them for an Industry Open Day on Thursday 8 May 2008.

The day will start at 1000 with a series of industry briefings in the morning, followed by a buffet lunch and then practical equipment demonstrations during the afternoon.

In addition to being exposed to a variety of EW companies and their capabilities, this is an excellent opportunity for members to network with fellow professionals in a superb new facility. The working day itself ends at 16:30 but is normally followed with an informal dinner in the evening at Branston Hall (www.branstonhall.com) (for which a small charge will be levied) where first class overnight accommodation is also available.

Shephard Group's 13th annual Electronic Warfare Conference & Exhibition - 15 to 16 May 2008

The Shephard Group's 13th annual EW Conference & Exhibition will be held in Interlaken, Switzerland, on 15-16 May 2008.

The Shephard Group are very pleased to announce that on this occasion the conference will be prepared in joint collaboration with the AOC. David Kitching, AOC UK Chapter Executive Officer, will once again be the conference chairman.

Visits planned

A classified visit to QinetiQ, Malvern.

A visit to the new SELEX GALILEO EW support facility in Lincoln.

A classified visit to the Defence Intelligence & Security Centre, Chicksands, Bedfordshire.

A classified visit to BAE Systems at Warton to view the EW Test Facility and Typhoon, probably in the autumn.

Visit to HMS Collingwood - Wednesday 11 June 2008

Your Board is very pleased to announce that the Royal Navy has kindly agreed to host a visit by UK Chapter members to HMS Collingwood, the home of Navy EW, on Wednesday 11 June 2008. It is necessary to limit the visit to 20 attendees and early booking is therefore advisable.

Members wishing to attend should complete the proforma below and send it by snail mail or e-mail to David Kitching as soon as possible. Please note that a form of photo ID will be required for entry to HMS Collingwood.
