UK AOC Newsletter - April 2004

Newsround

At long last we have a website.  Thanks to the kind auspices of STASYS Ltd and the sterling efforts of Carl Tusler, in particular, our website is up and running.  Thank you Carl, great job. As suggested at the AGM we have gone to a professional organisation.  Fortunately we have not had to pay for it.

We are interested in your comments for improvements, and suggestions will be included as and when STASYS can fit them in.  As they are currently offering us a free service we do not want to impose on their good will too much.

It is our intention to move towards electronic information only.  Why wouldn’t we bearing in mind what our professional organisation is supposed to promote?  So please send us your e-mail address and keep it up to date.

Recent Events

The AGM was held on 24 February and was well attended.  Mark Richardson managed to rescue us by giving Lt Paul Jones’ MESE Course presentation on Wireless LAN on RN Warships. Thank you Mark.  Also thanks are due to Ian Fish for suggesting the host for our new website.

Forthcoming Events

The second Electro-Optics & Infra-red Seekers and Countermeasures Conference will be held at RMCS Shrivenham 4-6 May.  Those wishing to attend should contact J.A. Sellwood@cranfield.ac.uk for further information.  Note the classification will be CONFIDENTIAL AUS/CAN/UK/US EYES ONLY.

For those who don’t read their JED, a reminder that the AOC European Conference will be held in Rome 17-19.

Dave Adamy intends to hold a Fundamentals of EW Course at The RAF Club 5-7 July immediately before our Symposium.  Apply in the usual way via crows.org.

Visits are still a bit thin on the ground but we still hope to visit those places detailed on the website.

Symposium

Our classified symposium is still on track for 8 July at the RAeS. Details and registration forms should be available in next month’s newsletter.

Whinge

Now that we have a magnificent new website, please keep your e-mail address up to date because from next month this newsletter will be linked directly to the website.
