UK AOC Newsletter - May 2004 |
Mea CulpaIn last month’s newsletter I had a few senior moments. Hopefully, this will correct those errors. Firstly, for those trying to attend the EO/IR Conference the initials of the POC did not get underlined; I blame my friend Bill Gates. Secondly, I also had several requests from those who could not find our new website. I deliberately missed out the name of the site because I thought that you all knew that it was the same as before. Thirdly, and most importantly, I gave the name of the stand-in presenter who came to our rescue at the AGM and saved us at the eleventh hour. It was of course Dr Phil Noble and not Mark Richardson. Sorry Phil.
Forthcoming EventsFor those who don’t read their JED, and those who can afford the hotel accommodation, a reminder that the AOC European Conference will be held in Rome 17-19 May. Dave Adamy will hold a Fundamentals of EW Course at The RAF Club 5-7 July immediately before our Symposium; apply in the usual way via crows.org. Dave has also asked if there would be any interest in a Modelling & Simulation Course at a later date; please let us know if there is. Visits are still a bit thin on the ground but we still hope to visit those places detailed on the website. However, I believe that everybody at RAF Waddington must be away on more important business as I have difficulty finding anybody there.
SymposiumOur classified symposium “Emitter Location For Future Operations” is still on track for 8 July at the RAeS. We are finalising the presentations and expect the presenters to be from MoD, Dstl, QinetiQ, BAE Systems, TRL, Thales and Northrop Grumman. The registration form is available on the website or attached to this newsletter for snail mail recipients. See also Events page. (TIP: Right-click on the Flyer or Registration Form and select "Save Target As..." to save to disk)
