AOC UK CHAPTER ANNUAL GENERAL MEETINGThe UK Chapter AGM will be held in the Royal Air Force Club, London, on Thursday 5 February 2009. All AOC members are encouraged to attend this excellent opportunity to meet the new UK Chapter President and the UK Chapter Board, to hear a report on the Chapter’s activities and its financial health and to help shape its future. OUTSTANDING NATO UNIT 2008: ’Y’ SQUADRON, ROYAL MARINESMany congratulations to ’Y’ Squadron, Royal Marines, for being recognised by the AOC as the Outstanding NATO Unit for 2008. The Squadron’s personnel demonstrated exceptional performance and bravery during intense fighting in Afghanistan and the Squadron's EW expertise and professionalism have been fully employed nationally and internationally with a clear focus on enabling a better performance on operations. In endorsing this award, the AOC UK Chapter was pleased to present an engraved AOC UK Chapter plaque and a cheque for £500 to ’Y’ Squadron during a ceremony on 20 October 2008 at the annual AOC convention in Reno, Nevada. INTERNATIONAL ACHIEVEMENT 2008: FLIGHT LIEUTENANT PETER LIIVET RAFCongratulations also to Flt Lt Peter Liivet RAF of the NATO Joint EW Core Staff (JEWCS) at RNAS Yeovilton for receiving the AOC award for International Achievement in 2008 at the Reno convention. The award recognises Peter’s dedication, professionalism and outstanding accomplishments of improved EW capabilities within NATO and other allied forces reflecting great credit upon himself, the UK and NATO. The AOC UK Chapter was also pleased to present Peter with an engraved AOC UK Chapter plaque. Further details will follow in the next Newsletter. |
